THE ROWDIEST REVENGE

Ahoy! Welcome to the crew of The Rowdiest Revenge, the finest ship on this here seas.

First, I’m gonna ask you tell me a little bit about yourself and sign some papers to join this crew. Then you might not hear from the captain for a good few months while we scrounge up a crew uniform that fits you. Once we find some threads (or rags) that suit, cap’n gonna call you back for your session to capture your likeness.

This series will set to capture a few of the key crew members aboard The Rowdiest Revenge, which was once one of Queen Anne’s best privateering ships that couldn’t give up the habit after the wars. But who were these pirates, what was their back story, and what did they look like?

It will feature portraits, mostly from the waist up, of some of the most fearsome and inconspicuous crew members. From the captain, the cook, the best fighter on board, to the quiet ones who are keeping a secret.

At the bottom of this page is going to be a link to a form with a few pages. The first page will be all the boring model release details, and then the next ones will be for you to tell me about yourself. We will work together to figure out who you are, and how you will be captured. By joining this project, you understand your image will be edited to have a more… weathered appearance. Maybe you will lose a few teeth, gain or lose a beard, get scars, bruises, pox marks, skin diseases, maybe even lose a whole limb! Who knows! All I’m saying is in 2015 they found the medical bag from blackbeards ship and they were definitely not well cared for. Like, literally poured mercury into pirates Long John Silvers to treat syphilis if you catch my drift.

I promise this is a professional photoshoot.

Shooting pistols, and portraits

Shooting will take place in Adamstown, Newcastle. Some time in March/April/May depending on logistics.
It will take roughly one hour from arrival to finish.

COSTUME

Your costume may be provided, or it may be asked to bring a few staple objects such as plain pants. Your hair and makeup will depend on your character, bust most will be natural face and hair.

MODELLING

You will be walked through what to do, and coached through poses, facial expressions, and what to do with these damn hands! Don’t stress, there’s a million props to hold and work off if you get a little nervous.

LOGISTICS

If you want to bring a support person, or if you know someone else who is also joining the crew, then absolutely bring them along for the trip.
I’ll have some snacks out and about, let me know if you have any dietary requirements.
